You may find that every day items are more expensive in Cayman when compared to home. This is due to the fact that nearly everything is imported. As well as the shipping costs, there is an import duty on most goods.

When visiting 'duty free' outlets please be aware that the item may actually be cheaper back home. All credit card purchases will be in US Dollars.

George Town is the centre of the Cayman shopping universe, with shops along the harbour waiting for the passengers of cruise ships, and nearly every road connected to this strip. The majority are jewellers, with gift shops mainly on the first floor.

Seven Mile Beach also has a few 'retail parks' along West Bay Road, mainly aimed at those staying in the hotels.
